Impact Internships is a non-profit based in Southern California dedicated to creating STEM research and immersion experiences for high school students. We seek in particular to serve students from minority and underprivileged backgrounds. The academic research experiences that compose our program are diverse, taking place at community colleges, research universities and incubators. Students in our summer program undergo an enriching experience that consists of 4 individual components:
- Weekly Plenary – Exciting speakerships from STEM and non-STEM academics as well as local artists, activists and changemakers
- Research in the Field – Working in a laboratory with a science research mentor
- Exploring College Possibilities – Enhanced college admissions focused on liberal arts colleges and universities outside California
- Leadership and Team-building – Social events, group activities and team challenges that are meant to build self-confidence as a young adult and leader
Impact Internships was founded in 2016 as Camellia Collaborative, and is finalizing its name change.
